Lethal Podcast

Doesn’t “podcast” sound like Invasion of the Body Snatchers? The lovely Tontileo asked me to do a podcast for her website - it’s the usual gang of idiots: ZsaZsa, Tom Jones, songs about dead people, etc. Enjoy! Or pass the cotton balls.

Mark Vidler’s got a new one (actually two), just in time for the summer weather we’re having here in Hwoodland. Funnily enough I’ve been on a Velvet Sugar kick, so this is perfect.

World Famous Not Only in SF

Hey! My pals over at World Famous in SF started their own label - how cool! I just figured they were having fun and living fabulously all the time and didn’t realize they were doing business-y things, too. Their first release is by an LA band, Hard Place. You can go have a listen there.

Some days I just need a little Larry Hovis.

I’m a Hovis Witness.

Bell X1

Well, y’know, I’ve got a soft spot for the Irish (hey! no one ever cuts us a break) so …

Hi Donna -
I wanted to see if you would post the attached Bell X1 mp3 to your blog, if you’re into it.

I heard a story from the band the other day. So apparently their tour bus, which used to belong to Tim McGraw, caught fire on their way out of Boston over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. (Yeah, I know, luck of the Irish and all.) Everyone was okay and they managed to get all their gear out to safety but the bus no longer exists. Anyway, they went on to play two incredible nights at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom.

Damn! I’m trying to upload “My First Born for a Song” but it’s not happening - (sadly, wordpress is not easy when it comes to mp3 uploads - ?) so go check out their myspace for lots of other cool songs (like “Bad Skin Day” or “Tongue”).

Now, it’s a sad day when you mix those two up. And last night was one of those sad days:

Oddly, “96 Tears” was 1 the day I was born.

Just think if you mix up the titles … “Keep your hands off my sexy marshmallow,” maybe? “96 Tears in my eyes” … “I’ve sold my saddle for an old sexy thing”?
