I have "Screaming Mimi" circled to tape--for one thing, I love Gypsy Rose Lee, who looks just like my mother. Not that my mother was a stripper--though there was a time during WWII that she . . . well, that's another story. No, I mean that c1950s Gyp looked JUST like my Mom, face, hairdo and all. When I was little and Gyp showed up on The Mike Douglas Show, she gave me a real turn.

It just has to be said: James Caan was hella sexy in "Lady in a Cage." The whole bisexual undercurrent between the three JD's in that flick was very edgy. Did you know that La Crawford was originally tapped for "Cage"? Don't know what happened there, but she mentioned the project in several of her legendarily voluminous correspondences of the time.

No, I never saw the Raquel special! It was on VHS, briefly; I don't know if there's a DVD. I love those 60's specials...Petula Clark's are really good, and the YouTube clips of Ann-Margret's look totally insane!

Did you ever see the Raquel TV special? One of my fave childhood psychothrillers (aside from Baby Jane!) was "Lady in a Cage" with Olivia DeHavilland being tormented by juvenile delinquents including James Caan.

Oooh, another one I'm dying to see: "Brainstorm," with Jeffrey Hunter and Anne Francis! (Along with Vivica Lindfords, who's also in "Sylvia," and Dana Andrews, the original star of "Laura.") We could make a whole afternoon/evening of cocktails and sleazy psychological thrillers!

When I was growing up, two of my favorite, late-entry psychothriller flicks were "Flare Up," with Raquel Welch as a go-go dancer being stalked; and "Daddy's Gone a-Hunting," a creepy tale that's either viciously pro-life propaganda or campy pro-choice.

I think the only other film I want to see more (or just as much) is "Sylvia," a sleazy, lurid remake of "Laura," with Carroll Baker and George Maharis.

I mean, doesn't the phrase "a sleazy, lurid remake of 'Laura,' with Carroll Baker and George Maharis" make YOUR pulse race?
