‘The Queen of Carry On’
… ain’t got no spare baggage. Whatever Barbara Windsor’s doing to keep in shape, I want to look as good as she does at her age. Hmm … keeping the Mitchells in line? Running a pub? Getting rid of that rotten bum Frank only to keep having bad taste in men? Dame Barbara, help us, we’re years behind in EastEnders over here. Not only does she play it - she lived it, too.

Question: did the graphic designers match the color of the type to Barbara’s skin tone, or did Barbara match her skin tone to the graphic designer’s type?

There is a great novel by Jake Arnott, “The Long Firm”, set in the London underworld of the Sixties, centred around a Reggie Kray (or was it Ronnie Kray: whichever the Gay Kray was) with a a major character, Ruby Ryder, based on Barbara Windsor. Really worth a read. Adapted by the BBC for television (but never seen in Australia: I guess there is no room for it amongst “Dancing with the Stars” and “Big Brother”)
