  6. “The grief of his wife’s death became greater and greater agony. The home they had so long shared together became a tomb. A sweet memory of her joyous living. The sky, to which she had once looked, was now only a covering for her dead body. The ever-beautiful flowers she had planted with her own hand became nothing more than the lost roses of her cheeks. Confused by his great loss, the old man left that home, never to return again.”

  10. Vampira - The Misfits

    Hey

Black dress moves in a blue movie
    Graverobbers from outer space
Well, your pulmonary trembles in your outstretched arm
    Tremble so wicked

    Two inch nails
    Micro waist
With a pale white feline face
    Inclination eyebrows to there

    Mistress to the horror kid
Cemetary of the white love ghoul, well
    Take off your shabby dress
    Come and lay beside me

    Come a little bit closer
    Come a little bit closer
    Come a little bit closer
Come a little bit closer to this

    Vampira, Vampira, Vampira

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

    Vampira

May you find eternal rest as God welcomes you at the Gates of Heaven.

May your family and friends find healing in God’s comfort and healing hands. May they know that you continue watching over them from your rightful place among the Angels.

  11. wow, saw this on rence.. I love all the b horror flicks and the history, and she was an image
and voice, that won’t be forgotten by legions of us who love that stuff. The non camp/camp
that she helped perpetuate in the genre, won’t be fully appreciated ’till the future, even though she has more fans than can be counted.
Kudos to all those involved in the film Ed Wood, for driving this important piece of cinematic
history into the present, of which Vampira (God rest her soul) was an integral and much loved part! And a Babe!

on line which could be said to be a direct predecessor of Plan 9!

  17. Attention one and all. Yes Vampira was beautiful. I loved watching her on TV when I was young.

    More importantly, MICKEY ROONEY SUCKS!

Mickey needs to finally die and go sit with his mentor SATAN!

  20. I was fortunate enough To meet her at Famous Monsters Con In L.A. and I was struck by how much class and style she had. What a loss this is. It`s to bad she lost her case against Elvira. Because Elvira did not have any of those atributes much less the talent that Miss Nurni did. Rest in peace dear, dear, woman. JB

  22. When I met Kelton The Cop (Paul Marco) from Plan 9 in Fall 1999, he called Ms. Nuremi -”an
old bag”. They obviously had some feud going. Then again, great artists often have creative differences. Still they helped make magic together.

  23. What is with all this hatred for Mickey Rooney?? A great actor and a truly nice gentleman!! Don’t worry, Mickey Rooney at almost 88 years old won’t be here forever!

  24. Funny, I was talking to a friend on the phone about Maila Thursday night. What a marvelous, funny, beautiful lady..she was Mother Courage. She went through a lot of hard times, and just kept on going…what a beautiful spirit, like a Gothic Auntie Mame. I am happy that at least she died peacefully, and I know she is happy, she is loved by so many, including myself. Maila, I love you.
