my parents took me to see Mr. Rickles in concert when I was a kid. there was a woman who wore a chanel head wrap in the audience and Rickles ridiculed her the entire night, asking “what’s my cleaning woman doing here?” and saying things like “the cleaning woman thinks it’s funny.” it was very funny and my face hurt from laughing the entire time.
DL: I saw him open for SINATRA with PIA ZADORA - it was like being on acid! i wore my black “liz in virginia woolf” wig with big sunglasses and capri pants.
